After visiting Wismar, we quickly jetted off to Schwerin. We couldn’t leave the capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern unvisited. So we piled into the tin box and set off. Unfortunately, our luck with the weather gods ran out. I really need to practise this again before my big wizard exam.
Look what we have seen:
Schwerin Stables
So we marched to the stables and were greeted by rainy weather. It’s June! Summer, sun, where are you?

Off to the state parliament
Then we looked for the Landtag, where can a castle hide?

Statue
I don’t think the horse gave consent…

Look at those frightened eyes! Humans! They’ve never heard of animal welfare.

Schwerin Castle/Landtag
Security
What no people protect the Landtag? Just because it’s raining? This is what the work of a real specialist looks like!

Lady! This is unprofessional! Show the right pictures!

Explore
After we were finally relieved, the rain had stopped and we explored Schwerin Castle.

Sebastian! You can’t get stuck everywhere! I’ll help you!

What is this human artefact supposed to tell us! Please from the left lady! This is my favourite side.

Humans are the worse animals….

Beautiful! I wonder if you can shoo the ducks?

Is the woman with the wings an angel? Er… Shouldn’t I have peed on the bush?

Great dog goddess… The second creature stares at me! I will never mark a bush here again!

Wow postcard material! Now I just have to retouch Lucien’s big bum.

Finally something to drink.

Cafe
People are having a good time. I want to lick it at least once.

At least we can dry out a bit here before it rains again.

Right there Mum! Continue right there!

Love Island
What is a dog supposed to imagine? Are people mating here? Is this where the men get into the women? But then why aren’t there islands like this in every village?

I don’t understand why people recreate something like this in a city, but running in the park is really good for you.

Prime Minister
Okay, as a collie, I don’t have to understand that. The state parliament is in the castle and that’s where the laws are made. Why doesn’t the Minister President of Meckleburg-Western Pomerania sit in the same house as all state parliaments? Does she need her own hut because she doesn’t like other people?

We guard it anyway.

Police station
I think we’re in the right place, don’t you? How many biscuits do we get for a job well done?

Stephan monument in Schwerin
There are monuments… The Universal Postal Union. They should make sure that my Christmas mail doesn’t arrive in February.

Pfaffenteich
The Pfaffenteich is an artificial lake. In the past, it was used by priests and bishops to water their gardens. Incidentally, the city advises against jumping into the pond due to its shallow depth (2.8 metres on average).

Back
And then we have to go back again. It has started to pour. Sebastian’s badges are getting more and more.

These dressing gowns are so comfortable and dry! I need to practise my weather magic. Not even Lucien can conjure up sunshine.

Rating Schwerin
Schwerin has a beautiful castle where you can spend a whole day.
Journey
The journey was unspectacular.
Experience
The castle/the state parliament is highly recommended. Especially if the weather is nice and you have plenty of time.
Dog suitability
We dog sitters were allowed everywhere, the park was something special, but not specifically for furry friends.
Useful information
Information can be found on the tourism page.
The Landtag is very beautiful.
