It’s been a year and a half since we were with Grandmaster Merlin in the Enchanted Forest. So much has happened! I’m no longer a little magical student! I passed my magic exam in Paris and have travelled the world a lot. Now I want to report back to my grandmaster, so we have to walk Merlin’s path again.
But first a little snack. You can’t let a mage do something this important half-starved.
Off to the magic trail!
Buckle up and hold on tight, the good lady is driving through the Black Forest like a stuck pig again! I tell you, without my anti-nausea spell, my snack, my breakfast and my dinner would be here again! Why is there no magic so that my mistress can drive without wobbling!
Lämmchen and Camonbert accompany us! They even seem to like it! They should ride wooden class here!
This time Camonbert has left his cheesy feet off the dashboard. That’s progress!
The maid
Once again we were greeted by the maid. Master Lucien’s bum was itching and he was very excited. I probably shouldn’t have done the spell containing itching powder on his blanket. Er… I hope he didn’t hear that! Otherwise he’ll bark his ears off again!
Portal
At the magical portal, another Ent shows us the way. Luckily he knows where Merlin is. Finding an interdimensional mage is a real bitch, especially when the coordinates are right but the dimension isn’t!
Magic water
First we went to the river! Driving makes you thirsty and our de-friend said we had to follow it to find Merlin.
So good! The best way to replenish your magical energy.
The dwarf says there’s no passage here. Crap… do we really have to go round the outside?
Sticks tree
What kind of creature is that! Is it from a dream or a nightmare? Better have a careful look and take a bite.
Merlin
Oh, we’ve found Grand Master Merlin! I told him about my test and he actually laughs about my hat and its erectile dysfunction. Is the great Merlin allowed to do that? Lucien snorts at my little star! But that’s my magician’s hat and I have to wear it. My hat is just as beautiful as I am! In order to be recognised in the German guild, I now have to prove my skills as a journeyman.
Signpost
Mähdamm has found the first signpost. What does that mean, please, I need an umbilical cord to the human? Oh they’ll get lost in the void and I won’t get any more food? Mum, you won’t let go of the leash until we’re outside the event horizon!
Mushrooms
Oh, my transformation spell worked a little too well… I transformed the mushrooms into wooden objects! At least they won’t break when you sniff them!
Throne
How is that supposed to work! This Thron is clearly not made for a collie! But as a powerful mage, don’t I have any subjects?
Oh, I’ve got a lady! Give her a quick kiss so she doesn’t run away.
Witch house
Huh?! A witch lives here? But we didn’t see her last time! She must have settled here again!
Is anyone there? Call out.
A little closer and try to sneak in in civilian clothes! Too bad my nose says no one at home and no recipe for potions found. Very disappointing.
But I passed Merlin’s test. We found the exit and were able to enter our world again.
South Tyrolean Heritage Festival
The people got themselves a snack. Do you know what the best thing is? People don’t want the fat or the edge of the bacon! Give it to me!
Embarrassing… I just wanted to look at the tasty stuff and then the bench fell over. Everyone thinks, well, I’m an American collie with no manners.
Quickly grab the last crumbs.
Return journey
And off we go again in the rocking tin box. Teleportation would be such a great thing, but it’s not allowed in the human world.

The Magic Forest is easy to reach by car and you drive through picturesque spots in the Black Forest.

The trail offers a variety of experiences and is also easy to walk with a small dog charm. The little party was a particularly nice surprise.
