After the beach, it’s on to Denmark! The humans had the idea that they wanted to visit the northernmost neighbouring country – Denmark! We wouldn’t be Collie Knights if we didn’t follow this new exploration idea. Off to a new country! Off to adventure!

Tønder
Tondern is a town on the border with Denmark. We were totally surprised how beautiful it is here. Only the sun had disappeared. Maybe I should practise my weather magic again.
Culture and food
Lucien and I took the plunge.

No, not what you think! We are far too closely related for that and come from completely different breeding organisations. Did you know that there are many strange rules for bi-… national marriages?
Skorstensfejerlauget (Chimney Sweep Guild)
Then we found the chimney sweeps’ headquarters. Unfortunately, none of the two-legged lucky charms were to be seen.

Tønder Ringridning
There are knight accessories here! Oh no, unfortunately it’s closed. But you can have a look!

Window shopping
Then we looked in the other windows! Everything at nose level.

Then my mum went to buy some souvenirs and left us sitting there.

That’s what my mum chose:

Kagmanden
The Kagmanden (in German Büttel or English bailiff) is a statue made of wood. Its predecessor worked as a pillory figure, but has retired to the city museum. The current statue took over the post in 1993, but the predecessor took his whip with him into retirement. Today’s Kagmanden, however, still has a sword.

Landscape
Yes, we are so pretty that you should take landscape pictures of us.

Wow, we have real wind today!

Hoyer lock
What strange objects are there here? Have a look at everything before it pours again!

This tower isn’t straight? I hope it doesn’t fall over when I look at it closely! HALT! Thank you Lucien! You saved it from toppling over!

Vidåslusen
Then we drove to the national park to have a look. Next time I’ll watch out for the weather spells! What a wind!

And here we have the Danish sea. But you’re not allowed to swim in it…

Wind rose
It’s called Windrose – Windhose! Help I’m flying away! Someone please weigh down my line!

Escape! A monsoon!
Into the car
We were wet at the big collie! We really had to run. In 5 minutes to the car we were all nose to the grindstone!

We continued on to the border. Luckily we were all able to stay dry and now the sun was coming out again.

Rating Denmark
We visited the border region of Denmark.
Journey
The journey was easy and beautiful. But it can be confusing right at the border. Make sure you don’t drive into the mudflats. Only the weather had something against us.
Experience
We saw and discovered many beautiful things. We recommend a trip to Denmark!
Dog suitability
There are many places where you can sniff.
Useful information
Information can be found on the Tøndern tourism page
The Wadden Sea is very beautiful.
