Our incredible journey to the sea continues today. After visiting Bremen, we want to see Hamburg today. Maybe we’ll see the sea today!

As a good collie knows, a day starts with breakfast, so let’s go hunting and do it close by!
Bassen
This is what our morning route looked like:
My collie nose found this bakery. My mum bought something for herself and her master:

I asked my mum very nicely for my share. Cheese tax and all that.

But we didn’t get anything… What a cheek.

Frustration! I think it’s a rumour that we already had our breakfast at the hotel! It was just plain dry food.
Off to Hamburg
In any case, we travelled on to Hamburg by car.

Hamburg
Here you can see where we went:
Active City
There was a lot going on in Hamburg. The first thing Mum went to see was the “Active City”:

State Parliament – Hamburg Parliament
But the first thing we Collies wanted to see was the state parliament – sorry, the >Hamburg parliament<! We want to visit all the state parliaments in Germany!
Of course, we also guard the Hamburg Parliament. That’s a Collie honour.

Wheelchair sport
Mum then tried out a wheelchair. It looks exhausting. Do we have to pull her in one of those things? How am I going to protect my paws?

As you can see, safety is a top priority:
In addition to a detailed briefing, there was also a helmet and watchful people.

Exploring the square
Sebastian then put a flea in Lucien’s ear to explore the neighbourhood, so these seals really are! I hope we don’t need a flea bath too. Fleas are supposed to be terribly itchy!

Walk through the city
Sebastian made his first escape attempt while walking through the city!

While Lucien caught Sebastian again, I waited with my mum. I snogged her straight away too!

Then we went on. You can already see the Elbphilharmonie in the distance.

But Sebastian wanted to fool around first. Hamburg is a modern city, ‘with modern architecture and lots of industrial charm. Unfortunately, the harbour is not in the sea but in the Elbe, what a disappointment.

Elbphilharmonie
What do people have to do with these strange buildings and we’ve walked so far for them?

Harbour
So that’s the largest German harbour. I have to say that the ships are really huge. So many containers!

Dalmannkai stairs
Cool here, like in Freiburg, there are waves to sit on. For me, it’s exciting climbing fun!

Am I already seeing double?

Sandtorkai
Lifebuoy
My mum really had to explain to me how this ring is supposed to work. There are even supposed to be dogs that bring these rings to people. I would rather die than get my belly fur wet.

Fire brigade museum ship “Baurat Schmidt”
A fire boat was anchored in the harbour! We had to take a close look at it!

Sebastian then told the story of “Baurat Schmidt”

Oberbaurat Schmidt was a fireboat. Its number (ENI 05107330) can be seen on the side.
Lucien wanted to board the boat, but unfortunately it says no collie light sailors allowed on board.

Fish sandwiches
While we’re in the north, there should be delicacies for us too. We can all eat fish! Take a look at the selection of fish sandwiches!

Mum went away and forgot about us Schnöde! But when she came back! So delicious!

Sand bridge
Then we visited the sand bridge.

Rating Hamburg
Hamburg is more a modern industrial city than a collie paradise.
Journey
From Bremen to Hamburg is fortunately only a >shortcomplex<.
Experience
Very modern and you have to know what you want to discover. Active City was fun, at least for the people.
Dog suitability
Too urban for collie knights. Rather travel to the outskirts of Hamburg.
Useful information
You can find information on the Bremen tourism page.
Make sure you take something to drink with you.
