Today we want to go for a walk again, it seems to me. Mum said something about Hanover and Bremen. How far is it to the sea? Sebastian says we’re getting closer. Bremen is supposed to have a harbour. Hanover is supposed to be a state capital. Let’s see.
Öbermöllrich
Mum prepared the car.

A quick sniff of the collie ladies. One of them smells really adorable!

Among other things, we had to say goodbye to the other collies. Unfortunately, there’s a fence between us and the others!
Lucien was allowed to eat outside. The travel bowl is not for indoors! He claims. But the old mackerel aunt would also leave a full bowl outside.

And after breakfast, it was off to Hanover!

Hanover
Here you can see our route. Take a look at how long we walked!
Parliament of Lower Saxony
The first highlight was the Lower Saxony State Parliament in the Leinschloss on Leinstrasse. At least we were in front of the state parliament. The security staff were nowhere to be seen! So we jumped in.

Then I wanted to take a few portraits.

I think these are the highlights. I control the passes perfectly, don’t I?

Castle fountain
The castle fountain was right nearby – perfect for a short break.

Incidentally, this is the oldest preserved fountain in the whole of Hanover! But you have to bear in mind that the fountain has been moved several times.
Monument to Hoffmann von Fallersleben
Here is the monument to Hoffmann von Fallersleben.

August Heinrich Hoffmann was a university lecturer in German studies and wrote the German national anthem.
Car park of the Landtag
I don’t know why Uncle Lucien wanted to guard the car park, but I think I looked cool doing it!

Ballhofplatz
Another place with a dog theme in its name! Let’s explore this place.
Ballhof Fountain
But… this fountain is sooo mean!

First you can’t get to the water and then… I fell in and got all wet! And my humans laughed at me! I was so wet! Luckily it was warm!

Japanese teahouse
I was wet, people were hungry and there’s a Japanese teahouse just round the corner. Perfect! I let the sun dry me off!

Our people’s food looked like this.

But I was only offered tea and cake crumbs. So that I wouldn’t get sick after my involuntary bath! Ouch! The cup is hot!

I wanted to, but the cream! Or the butter! Or the bacon!
Then we followed the red thread that literally lay at our feet and came to the gate of the stables:

The associated riding school was destroyed during the Second World War.
Linen water
Back to the dog theme. >Down to the leash water<. The humans have really called a river a leash. But the water looks a bit muddy. Who knows who made it in there…

I don’t think I want to drink from that…
Fake ice cream
That looks delicious! I must try it!

Unfortunately, it’s just fake ice cream and my humans didn’t want to buy me any ice cream!
Market Church
Then we discovered the weekly market and admired the market church. It smelled so deliciously of fish and meat, unfortunately nothing here either…

Pink sheep
As a herding dog, you have to take a close look at this. A wild pink sheep in the centre of Hanover!

Sibling fountain
Then a drink at the sibling fountain. We shared fraternally!

Window shopping
Then we had a look in the shop windows. You never know what you’ll find. We met a colleague who protects the bridal shop.

Then we were already travelling on towards Bremen. You can’t get involved in anything, we change cities so quickly.
Autohof Schwarmstedt
Short rest stop at the Schwarmstedt motorway service station. I was caught like a fish in a net! This is not how I imagined being taken in tow…

Somehow I felt like a fish and the sudden appearance of the Statue of Liberty reinforced my feeling of being in the wrong film. Had I been secretly deported to the USA?
